Covid-19 Update. We Remain Open to Serve You.

Dominion Title Services Covid-19 UpdateDominion Title Services remains OPEN FOR BUSINESS and we are continually monitoring the latest developments and guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (“CDC”), as well as federal, state and local authorities.  The health and welfare of our employees, business partners and customers are at the center of all decisions we are making at this critical time.

In order to continue to serve your title insurance and escrow services and to ensure the health and safety of our employees, business partners and customers, we have taken the following steps:

  • Specific employees are working from home and any employee exhibiting signs of illness are being directed to stay home.
  • Hand sanitizer and cleaning products, for so long as these products remain available, are utilized in each of our offices.
  • Closing rooms and public areas in each of our offices are being cleaned before and after each use.
  • New and unused pens are being provided for each closing.
  • All unnecessary items, including reading glasses, snacks and non-disposable drinking cups, have been removed from the closing rooms.
  • Parties are being asked to sanitize their hands before the closing.
  • Parties are encouraged to not bring unnecessary guests to the closing.
  • Parties can be placed in separate closing rooms if desired.
  • Special accommodations for closing, such as curbside closing, etc., can be made available upon request.

We are monitoring federal and state authorities as they work diligently to pass necessary regulations to speed up the use of remote online notarization (“RON”), which will allow a signer and notary public to use interactive two-way audio and video communication technology to notarize the signer’s electronic signature on electronic documents.  We will keep you informed as to any progress with this needed process.

Also, we are monitoring closures in several counties to determine if searching and recording documents will be affected which may delay turn time and/or the ability to close transactions in those counties.  These issues remain very fluid but the relevant authorities understand the importance of real estate transactions to our economy and we anticipate they will work through these issues with that goal in mind.

These uncertain times require patience and perseverance and we thank you for your continued trust in our dedicated staff at Dominion Title Services.  Please contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
